A recent quote from my good buddy Yan B, when I asked "how's life?" That was his reply... Yan I understand exactly how you feel. Things are going great, but somehow you don't feel as happy as you think you should be.

Well, let's hope that once we finally open the door, that the party will still be at it's peak.

French vocabulaire!!!!

Putin, Merde!!!!!

C'est les seuls mots que je sais complètement bien prononcer comme un Français!!! C'est triste parce que j'ai eu un entretien jeudi après-midi chez Le Figaro pour une nouvelle mission. Cette mission pourrait être le début de ma nouvelle carrière ici en France, car la mission avec La Société générale terminera à la fin janvier.

J'avoue que ce n'a pas été le meilleur entretien de ma belle carrière à date, mais je suis trop qualifié pour ce poste de toute façon!!!! Par contre, Le Figaro est une entreprise où je pourrais facilement avancer et travailler avec les nouvelles technologies.

Dider Berne, qui a organisé l'entretien, m’a dit que malheureusement je n'ai pas eu le poste car je ne parle pas le français comme un vrai Français. Quand j'ai entendu ça, je n’ai rien dit. Toute le monde qui me connaît ici en France sait que je parle français avec un accent anglo et aussi, que mon vocabulaire n'est pas complet.

Mais moi, je sais que je me suis beaucoup amélioré depuis mon arrivée à Paris, en avril 2006. Alors, je peux me sentir triste, je peux aussi me fâcher ou je pourrais même retourner au Canada, où mon accent serait plus apprécié.

Mais non!!!! "That's not my style" et je vais faire le mieux afin de m’adapter plus en français. Samedi, j'ai acheté des livres d’orthographe et de grammaire et j'ai des amis qui vont m'aider à parler français avec moins d'accent anglophone.

Une autre chose aussi, c'est que j'essaierai d'écrire mes blog posts en français aussi. Alors à tous mes pots, n'héstiez pas à me corriger quand je fais des erreurs, c'est le seul moyen pour moi d’apprendre.

Je ne suis pas venu ici en France pour avoir des échecs!!! Je ne peux pas et je ne veux pas changer qui je suis, un anglophone Canadien-Jamaican. Mes pots, France, et le monde entier devront être accepté comme je suis...

Picasso's Art

As mentioned in my previous post, I got to see some of Picasso's orginal works of art. Although I'm a debutant in the work of art appreciation, I was very impressed with many of his works and as Tanya pointed out, you can see his skill in even the simplest of drawings he made. Another Great weekend in paris!!!!

It's 2007 and the first full weekend of the year started off superbly. Friday Tanya and I hung out as she came back from Bugaria and she shared her stories of the great time she spent with her family. Then we met Sophie and we all headed off to Cafe OZ to meet Gab and the others.... Wow, I don't even have to go into details... FUN was had by all....

Saturday, after sleeping in from the long night... I met Omar for the gym although I did not get to work out this time we took a tour on les Champs and i got a couple of reading materials that'll help me improve my french vocab ;-)

We then decided to go for dinner at an Italian resto and Omar invited a couple of friends, Nadesh & Aurelie. We then met Sacha and Anna at Sacha's place.... took down a couple of Bicardi's 76% proof alcohol shooters (Thats some strong stuff, it'll grow hair on your chest...hehe). Then.. well you guessed it, we headed back to Cafe OZ.. to party until the sun came back up (well almost!!).

Tanya and I later meet Sunday afternoon and paid a visit to the Picasso Musee since most offered free admission to the public on the first Sunday of each month :)

All in all, it was another great weekend in Paris, you gotta love it!!!!
